A Song Cycle of Love and Death sets the lyrics of our most beloved poets and poems to original orchestral scores. Meant to be performed together, a sense of unity is achieved through narrative and common themes, underlined by the musical means. This is a life work, that has roots in Schubert's and Schumann's art songs, or German Lieder.

The poems in the cycle share a lyrical quality - a romantic air, a mystical tone, an atmospheric feeling.

Here are the twelve works in the cycle recorded to date:

Eldorado
Edgar Allan Poe

The Waking
Theodore Roethke

The Poison Tree
William Blake

I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud
William Wordsworth

Song
Christina Georgina Rossetti

Romance

Song of the Wave
Kahlil Gibran

The Dole of the King's Daughter
Oscar Wilde

The Flight
Sara Teasdale

Hie Away, Hie Away
Sir Walter Scott

Dream-Song
Walter de la Mare

Invictus
William Ernest Henley

New orchestral settings are ready to record, including works by Frost, Tennyson, Brontë and others.
